Start with the top of your mattress.

A nightstand should be easy to reach while you are in bed. Measure the finished bed height, including your mattress and topper, then try a surface near that height before you choose.

Start at the mattress

A bed frame’s height does not tell you where the sleeping surface will be. Check the mattress support height and add the mattress and topper. From your usual sleeping position, try reaching for a glass, book, and lamp switch.

The Verona Nightstand is listed at 26.75 inches high; its dimension drawing shows 26.50 inches. The final height needs confirmation. To pair it with the Roman King Bed, you also need the bed’s support height and your mattress thickness.

Check drawers and walkways

Measure the bed frame, including its upholstered edges and headboard, rather than using the mattress size alone. Mark the footprint on the floor and check the route from the door to both sides of the bed.

Open drawers need room in front of them. Check drawer extension as well as space to stand and walk past. For a tall chest, follow the furniture maker’s anchoring instructions. The Verona chest is vertical storage, rather than a low dresser.

Compare the pieces together

The Verona nightstand and chest come from the same collection. The Roman bed is a separate design paired with them here. Compare wood finishes and fabric in the same light, and check the actual dimensions before deciding that the combination suits your room.
